My
mother
died
when
I
was
12
years
old,
leaving
me
with
a
sense
of
great
emptiness.
The
history
of
my
ancestors
became
a
source
of
inspiration,
encouragement
and
hope.
I
began
piecing
together
the
stories
of
their
time
on
Earth.

At
this
stage
of
my
life,
I’m
thinking
of
what
I’ll
be
leaving
to
those
whom
I
love
very
much.
I
mean
my
extended
family
as
well:
the
people
of
my
beloved
Quebec.
This
is
the
story
of
the
pioneers
who
came
before
us.
It
is
our
collective
story.
